As you probably have seen by now through all my posts, on June 1st Panerai opened up it’s largest boutique ever right here in the United States. The two story boutique is located on Madison Avenue in New York City and features all the latest when it comes to the store concept and look as well as features you truly have to visit to enjoy.
While watching some of the videos you might have noticed an interesting piece being shown off on the massive screen built into the main level wall at the newly opened boutique. It was none other than the first ever 45mm Radiomir Tourbillon GMT made in a bronze case. Time to meet the Panerai PAM1284.
As mentioned previously, the case is made out of the iconic bronze material we love to see Panerai work with so well. The watch over time will naturally oxidize giving each piece it’s own unique look. The dial in another first comes in a dark forest green with gold hands that compliments the watch masterfully.
Rouding out the dial you have the GMT function which is indicated by a central arrowed hand and the 24 hours counter on placed at the 3 o’clock position along with a day & night indicator. At the 9 o’clock position you have a seconds hand.
Since there is a lack of an actual dial the gold gilded Radiomir Panerai text almost seems suspend in a void with it being set on the actual sapphire crystal background. The hands and indexes feature a beige Super-Luminova to further enhance the vintage look of this modern timepiece.
The beauty of the movement and workhorse of this time pieces, the P.2015T calibre movement which weights only 15.30 grams thanks to the bridges being made entirely of titanium, can easily be admired on the back via the sapphire crystal. The two barrels in a series give the watch up to 4 days of power reserve which you can monitor with the indicator on the back of the movement.
This PAM1284 Retails for $166,500 USD and is available now.
