PAM01565 | Luna Rossa e-Commerce Special Edition

As we became well aware on the first day of Watches and Wonders 2024, Panerai’s focus was the continued partnership between the Luna Rossa Racing team which officially started in 2019. On the second day of the event, the brand has unveiled a limited edition e-Commerce model, the Panerai PAM01565 Submersible Luna Rossa. As a run up to the 37th annual America’s cup in Barcelona, the Luna Rossa collection has become the spotlight of the show.

This very limited edition of 300 pieces is a tribute to the daring and audacious yacht team. The timepiece will only be available for purchase online today, the second day of the show. The 42mm submersible features a brushed steel case  and a contrasting matte black ceramic disc bezel which is highly resistant to scratching. The unidirectional rotating bezel to allow the calculation of immersion time which is a crucial feature for a submersible watch such as this.

The watch has a deep blue sunburst dial with the red accents on the sub second hand which we have become accustom to on all the Luna Rossa pieces. The blue sunburst has a bit of a variation on this model as it features a black to blue gradient which pays homage to the mysteries of the ocean depths.

The small sub second dial is located at the 9 o’clock position while opposite it we have a date window. Powering this e-commerce beauty is the P.900 automatic movement, renowned for reliability and 3 day power reserve.

Turning over the PAM01565 the solid case back features an engraved image of the Slow Speed Torpedo, or “Pig”, on which the commandos of the Italian Navy wailed through the deptsh of the sea in the 1940’s.

As with the majoriy of the Luna Rossa collection, the main strap is a bi-material rubber with the red stripe down the middle and white “Luna Rossa” lettering. A second solid dark blue rubber strap is provided to give the watch a change of pace whenever you desire.
